If you really want to target the muscles and recover muscle memory, practicing walking is very essential.

  1. Start walking using a platform walker and have someone with you just in case.
  2. To increase the difficulty, add ankle weights. If you are comfortable, walk by yourself around the block, going further each time.
  3. If the platform walker is no longer challenging, move into a normal walker which is weighed down for more control.
  4. Remove the weights from the walker and practice with someone there just in case.
