Editorial Reviews

This is not normally the type of book I would read but WOW I’m so glad I did. Your story brought tears to my eyes and your journey was amazing.
–Charlie Bell, Author of Your Most Amazing Day Yet ★★★★★

I liked how the author explained in detail the exercises he used to get back on his feet and begin walking. I have a brother who is disabled due to a series of strokes and the exercises described in this book has helped my brother get back on his feet. I liked the descriptive photos with the corresponding exercises that outlines each exercise given from someone who has been there. The personal story is also interesting and enlightening from the author’s perspective. I recommend this book to everyone, from therapists to family members of persons dealing with balance problems affecting the ability to walk.

The reader will feel each moment of frustration when he fails and joy when he finally takes those first steps. The author’s message is simple: find what motivates you, learn to accept changes will take time, and do not be afraid to push your body.

The unique selling point of this book is the author himself. “How can you write an article about relearning to walk if you have never relearned to walk?” Nothing in this book is based on research done in lab conditions by people who don’t know what it feels like to be in a wheelchair. Everything mentioned in the book is something that Siofer has personally gone through, tried, and tested.

Book starts out with an amazing story of a comeback, however I was impressed myself even more with the numerous exercises and detailed pictures in the second half of the book of what he had to go through in rehabilitation. This second half of the book is well worth any price charged for it, going through this is extremely difficult, I have had hemiparesis after a gunshot to the Head myself and have had a long road back so I can relate to a lot of this especially balance exercises as I deal with spasticity too, and I am very impressed and will share and recommend this with people. Thank you.
